It was suggested that many of our new star sisters need a helping hand in getting acquainted with all the activities and goings-on of Sisters of the Golden Moon. Let's face it, this is all pretty overwhelming at first to a new star. Even some of the "not so new" stars have trouble finding things they are looking for.
So what we have done is created a mentorship program that we call the Guiding Stars. This will not only help the established stars but the new ones as well. We will have at least one Guiding Star from each Constellation, except for the KCD.
If you would like a Guiding Star upon joining your Constellation, please contact your assigned Galaxy Star/Stars. Once she receives your request for a Guiding Star, she will contact Pat (GPR) who then will assign a Guiding Star for you.
Guiding Star Criteria
If you wish to volunteer to be a Guiding Star, e-mail the Founders and you will be considered when a new Guiding Star is needed. The Founding Stars reserve the right to have final say on which members become Guiding Stars.
Perferably, a Guiding Star must be an active SGM Star for at least 3 months before she will be considered for a Guiding Star position.
After becoming a Guiding Star, you will be sent a logo, which you should display on your website. If you decide to leave the Guiding Stars at some point, you are required to take the logo down.
Guiding Star Responsibilities
If requested, a new member will be assigned a Guiding Star from their Constellation for the first two weeks of their active membership. Guiding Stars will be responsible for answering questions about SGM for their new sisters, and to help them around the many pages and activities that SGM has to offer. If it should occur that a Guiding Star is asked a question she does not know the answer to, the Guiding Star will then ask Pat (GPR). If she doesn't know, she can go to one of the Reception Galaxy Stars to find out, and report back to the Guiding Star.
